I get what you mean. It’s really tiring to read all those harsh and negative reactions all the time. It makes you wonder where the respect and calm have gone. It’s nice though that you found a place where the tone was different, even if it was a bit unexpected.
I hope your blog can stay a peaceful place like that, without all the negativity.
Dear Aritha, yes, it was nice to find a non-Hungarian Facebook page where they don't say so many negative things about him. Most people like him, many voted for him (including me), and he managed to defeat the dictator who has ruled Hungary for 16 years. The losing party and its supporters can't lose and are cursing the new one with very nasty words. There is also a fight on Facebook between the supporters of the winning and losing parties. I couldn't stand it anymore and was happy for the non-Hungarian Facebook page where the ladies were more concerned with the appearance of our next prime minister. I only read positive words, it was nice to relax and read there for a while. I was afraid that the comment war would start on my blog too, but my blog and I "survived" this day.:) Hugs. Éva
It sounds like it’s a lot… I recognize that. Sometimes it helps me to step back a little from everything coming in, just to keep things quiet on the inside.
It once helped me to ignore the news on social media for a week. I only read a newspaper I trusted during that time.
Even in my own family there were different views for a while, and that wasn’t always easy. I’ve learned we can’t really control or change others… only ourselves.
And then return to something small… light, stillness, a moment outside.
I followed the media, especially during the campaign, and I still do now, because I am interested in what our next prime minister is doing. It is about my country and its future, and since I live here, also about my own. The majority of people also wanted to get rid of the dictatorship, and they needed to be informed in order to make their good decision. Your country is not in ruins, it does not need someone to fix it, that is why I voted for him and his party. He won a week ago, he has been working and working ever since, and he has already done a lot. I am in a different situation than you, and I cannot close myself off from the media. Maybe one day I will be able to return to silence, light and nature. The time has not come yet. I have to divide my attention between politics and beauty. I am in this situation and many others in Hungary. The dictatorship did not let him appear on public television because they feared their power from him, and they saw how popular he had become. In 2 years he visited 700 settlements, listened to the people, and they love him. Of course not the people of the other party. They wanted to destroy him physically and mentally, but he persevered and won. I was interested in his fate, and whether he would survive the struggle at all. A dictatorship is capable of anything. He survived!:)
Even at the best of times, politics is a dirty game and I am not surprised at the slander that takes place. I am quite saddened by the thought that only blogs operated by other women have been civil and positive. Have we man sunk so low? Best wishes - David
We have sunk to this low! The losing party cannot process the defeat, and neither can the people who support them. After 16 years, they have now lost, and they are having a hard time accepting this. The current losers have somehow gained from the dictatorship for 16 years, and now they may lose it. Money, positions, power.... Such is life, such is politics! On Facebook, there is a comment war between the two groups, the "losers" and the "winners". Not in an intelligent way, but with dirty words. I don't want to describe them, but I wouldn't be able to, because I didn't learn these words in English, because I knew I would never use them anyway. Our future prime minister (in the picture), for whom I voted, is being insulted a lot. Péter Magyar won 1 week ago, he didn't have time to prove it yet, but he worked and worked continuously during this week. The ladies on that non-Hungarian Facebook page only looked at his appearance. They probably know not much about Hungarian politics, they only look at him as a man. As I wrote, that non-Hungarian Facebook page posted several pictures of him, and the one I posted in this post is the most popular among the ladies. They only wrote positive adjectives about him, how attractive, handsome he is, and how much they envy Hungarian women for seeing him so much every day. These opinions have nothing to do with politics, only with Péter Magyar's charm. But it was reassuring to read so many words of praise about him, after so many dirty Hungarian words about his personality. People have to learn how to lose and with dignity, but this is not the case in Hungary right now. Provocation, attack, counterattack = war. I was afraid that this post of mine would be attacked by those who oppose him, but fortunately no atrocities happened. Am I lucky? By the way, he is a really attractive man, even for me. I have eyes and I can see him too. :) If he becomes a good leader of the country, that is what is important.
